Practice

  • Start with the lowest complete major pentatonic scale pattern available in a given key.
  • Play the I, IV and V chords (no sevenths) which go with that scale pattern.
  • Play the scale again.
  • Now play the dominant seventh I, IV and V chords.
  • Move up to the next pattern and repeat the procedure.
  • Do this all the way up and back down the fingerboard in all keys.
