Root Movements
Root movement is the way the roots of the chords move from one to another.
Root movements used so far:
Alternate root movement is shown below. In this case, the root of the I7 chord is found on the 5th string, instead of the 6th. Also, the roots of the IV7 and V7 chords are found on the 6th string, instead of the 5th. The chord forms are the same as before, they're just arranged differently.

Relative Positions of Chord Sets
The root of the I chord in Set 2 is found either 7 frets up or 5 frets down (from the root of the I in the Set 1 chords). Here is an example in the key of A:
Practice
- Minor pentatonic scale, ascending and descending (box #1 followed by the box #2, and vice versa).
- Quick change 12-bar blues using Set 2 of the I7, IV7 and V7 chords.
- Use both forms of the I7 chord.
