  • Playing scales over the entire fingerboard
    • Start with the lowest complete pattern available in a given key.
    • In the key of E, box #1 is the lowest; in the key of A, box #4 is the lowest.
    • Play in all keys.
  • 12-bar blues using #9th chords (including the new form) and two patterns of root movements.
